Province No1 consists of 14 districts. its area is 25,905 sq. km that is about 18% of the total land area of the country. country. Biratnagar is the Provincial capital city of province No 1. The climatic condition of province no 1 is the warm and humid climate in the southern part.  

 

Inhabitants

In the province, No.1 Mainly the inhabitant's Rai, Limbu, Sherpa, Rajbansi, Koche, Meche, Dhimal, Lepcha, Brahmin, Chhetri are lived.

 Rivers

 Rivers in province no.1are

 Saptakoshi, Dudhkoshi ,Tamakoshi , Sunkoshi, Bhotekoshi, Arun, Tamor, Likhu, Kankai, Mechi, kabeli are the rivers in province no 1.

 

Protected areas

 Sagarmatha national park 

Sagarmatha National park was listed on World Heritage Site in 1979. it was Established in 1976.Sagarmatha National park has cover a region of 1,148 sq, km 

Makalu Barun national park

Makalu Barun national park was Established in 1992. Makalu Barun national park is spread over an area of  1,500  sq, km 


Kanchanjunga conservation area

Kanchanjunga conservation area was Established in 1997. Kanchanjunga conservation area is spread over an area of 2,035 sq, km 

 

 Koshi Tappu wildlife reserve

 Koshi Tappu wildlife reserves was Established in 1976. Koshi Tappu wildlife reserves are spread over an area of 75sq, km.

  

 Mountains

Mt.everest

 Mt.everest height is 8,848.86 meters above sea level.It is located in Solukhumbu District. Mount Everest is the highest mountain in the world.

 

 Kanchenjunga

Mount kanchenjunga height is 8,586 m. It is located in the eastern part of Nepal in the Taplejung districts. Mount Kanchenjunga is that the third highest mountain within the  world.

 

Lhotse 

Mount Lhotse height is 8,516 metres . Mount Lhotse , the fourth highest mountain within the  world.

 

Makalu 

Mount Makalu height is 8,485 metres . Mount Makalu is that the  fifth highest mountain within the  world. It is located in the Sankhuwasabha district.

 

 Cho yu 

 Mount Cho yu height 8,188 meters. Mount Cho yu is that the  sixth highest mountain within the  world.It is located in the eastern part of Nepal in the Solukhumbu District.

 

Religious place

 Mainly Hinduism and Buddhism people are found to live in this province.

Pathivara = Pathivara temples lie in the Taplejung district of Nepal.

Halesi Mahadev =Halesi Mahadev temples lie in the Khotang district of Nepal.

Barahachhetra = Barahachhetra lies in the Sunsari district of NEPAL.

Chhintang Devi = Chhintang Devi temple lies in the Dhankuta District of Nepal.

Dantakali = Dantakali temple lies in Sunsari District of Nepal.

Budhasubbha = Budhasubbha temple lies in the Sunsari District of Nepal.

 

Industrial area

In province No 1the eonomic  area is found  in Dhankuta, Inaruwa, Bhadraour ,Ilam, Itahari, Dharan, damak , Biratnagar

Economic activities

Agriculture, animal, husbandry, trade and business, tourism is the main economic activity of this Province. Moreover, Agriculture like food crops like paddy, maize, wheat, potato and crash crops like  tea, jute, tobacco, sugarcane is that the major occupation during which people living in this Province No 1 are engaged. In this, the province people are more energetic and that they also are equally active in agriculture, tourism trade, and business which encompasses a great contribution to the economic system of the country.
